No One Challenges Green Party Petitions!

The two week period allowed for challenges to our petition submittal has now passed, without anyone bothering to try.

The only remaining action for us to be officially certified as being on the ballot is the meeting of the state Board of Canvassers, per the following announcement.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT THE BOARD OF STATE CANVASSERS WILL MEET ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 2000, AT 10:00 A.M. IN ROOM 124 OF THE MUTUAL BUILDING, 208 NORTH CAPITOL AVENUE, LANSING, MICHIGAN.

Included on the Agenda will be:

- - Report on staff review of new political party petition filed by the Green Party of Michigan, 548 South Main Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

- - Report on staff review of initiative petition filed by Let Local Votes Count, 320 North Washington Square, Suite 110, Lansing, Michigan, 48933.

- - Assignment of ballot designations to statewide ballot proposals qualified to appear on the November 7, 2000 general election ballot.

- - Determination of ballot wording for statewide ballot proposal sponsored by Kids First! Yes!, P.O. Box 16008, Lansing, Michigan 48901. (see note below).

A person may address the Board on any agenda item at the end of the meeting. A person who wishes to address the Board on an agenda item at the time the item is being discussed must submit a written request to the Chairperson of the Board prior to the opening of the meeting. Persons addressing the Board are allotted three minutes.
